Are you ready for summer?
The Summer holidays are nearly upon us and we all know it’s no mean feat keeping children entertained. Tameside Cultural Services have plenty of activities on offer with free family theatre events at the heart of the programme for the school holidays.
Taking place every Thursday in August at Stalybridge Civic Hall, they’re all suitable for children aged three and over, and of course their parents and carers. Performances start at 11.30am and 2.30pm. Tickets will be available along with further information on workshops and performances at the mobile box office at Tameside One Library, 12 noon til 4pm on the 20th and 26th July.
Running alongside these theatre performances are Wednesday countryside events. There’s Let’s Go Native (31st July), which has a Native American theme, and then on 7th August youngsters can attend Wild Art, in Cheetham’s Park, Stalybridge, which offers a chance to get creative with charcoal sticks made on a camp fire.
Away with the Fairies (21st August) at Lymefield Broad Mills, Broadbottom, is an enchanting day in the countryside, and things wind up at Park Bridge on 28th August with Sounds Natural, when you can make your own instruments.
