School Closure Update
18th March 2020 17:50pm
Dear Parents and Carers
In light of this evening’s announcements from the Prime Minister, I have now asked Senior Leaders to activate our plans for the event of an enforced school closure.
It is important that children who are well continue to attend school on Thursday and Friday. We will continue to ensure their safety with the full range of measures that are already in place.
Over the next two days teachers will be preparing children for the work that they have set for the first two weeks of the closure. We will also be planning the logistics of getting the “Continuation of Learning” packs to children, who are currently ill or self-isolating. We will continue to provide updates as often as possible.
As I am sure that you can appreciate, the next two days are going to be extremely busy for the staff and school leaders. Please allow us to absorb this news and consider all the information and guidance that we are given from the Department of Education and Public Health.
Please ONLY RING SCHOOL to report absences. We are unable to respond to individual cases during this time, as this will hinder our progress.
Plans are in place for teachers to use Seesaw and Classdojo to communicate with children and families once the school has closed, but for the next couple of days their focus will be on the children in classes. I will be delivering all school updates directly to parents through these platforms.
Naturally, we understand that parents will be worried at this time; we will continue to do everything we can to help and support you throughout the closure. Thank you in advance for your patience over the next two days.
