Christmas Window Wanderland 2020!

Window Wanderland

Wednesday 16th December

Dear Parents and Carers

We could not let Christmas pass by without a magical family experience for all the children to enjoy!

So, we have planned a special festive evening walk for you to enjoy with the members of your household.  We would like to invite your household to join us for a magical, festive wander around our one-way system on the evening of Wednesday the 16th December.

We will be lighting up the school with Christmas lights and our classroom windows will be filled with festive displays of children’s work for you to enjoy on your way.  We have some special visitors, who will be joining us from Diggle Brass Band to cheer our evening with Christmas Carols and I have put in a special request to see if the Big Man himself can spare some time too, but we will have to be good!

Our wonderful friends at the Big Local Hub are providing hot chocolate and gingerbread people to keep us warm.  We have other surprises planned too, including a special QR Code Trail, where you will be able to use your phones to see Christmas Carol performances from each class.

We hope you agree that it sounds like a lot of fun and something very safe and different to do for this very different Christmas!

Arrivals will be split into half hour slots starting as soon as it has gone dark at 4.30 pm and finishing with a 7.30 pm slot.

Each arrival time will have a different colour ticket, each household will be allocated one ticket and a member of our Elf and Safety Team will be on the gate to take your tickets and there will be a limited number of tickets for each half hour slot.

We hope you understand, that to make this so very special my fabulous team will need a little time, so on Wednesday 16th December, school will close 1 hour earlier than usual.  All staggered departures will stay the same, just one hour earlier e.g. children who walk home at 3 pm will walk home at 2pm, children who are collected at 3.15 pm will be collected at 2.15 pm and so on.   We will be in touch again very soon by text to take your household’s booking.

This is a free event, paid for by school with a kind donation from the Big Local.  However, on the night we will be asking for donations to a special cause to buy our lovely Layla Kinder in Reception a specially adapted bike so that she can join in cycling with her friends!
