A New Library for Ashton!

A New Library for Ashton!

The exciting first chapter of Ashton Library in the brand new Tameside One building will be celebrated with magical morning of adventures, crafts and storytelling fun.

A Tameside Loves Reading party, to be held on Thursday 7 March, will mark the official launch of the new library, which opened its doors to the public on 4 March as part of the flagship Vision Tameside development.
The new library offers state-of-the-art children’s facilities and access to 2.8million books from across Greater Manchester and thousands of digital publications. There are around 36,000 physical items to borrow plus 2,000 items for reference.
The opening will also celebrate our newly launched Tameside Loves Reading campaign and
World Book Day.

Tameside One, in Market Place, Ashton, is the first building of its kind to offer a host of customer service facilities under one roof. As well as the library there is Tameside Council’s Customer Services, Citizens Advice, Cash Box Credit Union and Jobcentre Plus, which are all now open.
