In Year 4, homework is given on a Monday, to be completed for the following Monday.
Each week, children are will be given a set of spellings, handwriting and a MyMaths activity to complete.
It is also expected that children read to an adult every night for at least five minutes.
Every half term, children are set specific home learning projects relating to our curriculum topic.
Lexia is an amazing tool to support your child's reading and writing and we are so lucky to have access to it in school.
Your child will have a personalised target time based on their progress and usage so far this year. For example, if your child is a regular user of Lexia, their target time might only be 20 minutes compared to a less frequent user who might need 60 minutes to boost their progress. If there is a specific skill your child needs extra practise with, personalised learning sheets will be downloaded and sent home. These do not need to be returned to school but we I would really like to know how they get on!
Each week, children will have the chance to be entered into a prize draw if they complete a minimum of 40 minutes of Lexia (both in school and at home).
Year 4 homework club takes place on Monday after school starting at 3:15 and finishing at 4:00. All children are welcome to join however, due to the extremely popular nature of our homework club, a waiting list system is currently in operation. If you would like to add your child's name to the homework club waiting list, please contact a member of the year 4 team and we will provide all the relevant information.
