Homework

Y3H will be given one piece of Maths, one piece of English and ten spellings for homework each Friday, this should be returned to school no later than the following Thursday. This gives families chance to spread the homework out and enjoy the weekend together. If children do not hand their homework in on time, they will be expected to stay in during break to catch up with this on a Thursday break time. If, for whatever reason, your child is unable to complete their homework, please call in and let myself, Mrs Holstein or Miss Cocksey know. If your child requires assistance with their homework, time will always be put aside to assist them during school time.

The children are given a set of spellings to learn each week and these are tested every Friday. We recommend practising little and often. Please see our 'Spelling' page for some tips and tricks to become better spellers!

Our homework club is on a Friday night 3:15 - 4:00. Homework is a fantastic opportunity for children to be supported by adults and to have full access to our iPads and laptops. Demand for places at homework club is high and we are currently operating a waiting list. Please let a member of the Year 3 team know if you would like your child to join the waiting list.

Children in Y3H are also encouraged to access Lexia and Bug Club as much as possible. All children have their own username and password for these programmes which can be used in school as well as at home! If your child isn't sure of their login details, please call in and ask a member of the team as we have these readily available. You can find a link to both of these programmes on our class homepage.
