Active Thursday is Back!

Active Thursday is Back!

I am pleased to announce that Active Thursday is back 5.30pm to 7.30pm.   Active Thursday is run by volunteers in conjunction with the Community Policing Team.

Active Thursday will be open to children from Year Three to Year Seven only.  As this project is volunteer led, attendance each week will be entirely dependent on good behaviour.

Activities available at Active Thursday will include:

  • Drumskool Drumming Sessions
  • Art and Craft
  • Indoor Sport with Tony
  • Football and outdoor sport with the Active Tameside Sports Coaches

Each of the activities last for one hour and the children are able to choose two activities each week.

All children need the permission of their parent or carer to be able to attend and a registration form will need to be completed. Registration forms are available to complete in advance from your child’s class teacher or will be available for parents to complete on arrival.

Children will NOT be allowed to stay without a complete registration form, as it includes emergency contact details.

Parents should drop off and collect their children from the hall door.  On arrival, children will choose a ticket for their first activity; after one hour, they will choose a new card and go to their next activity.

WE ALSO NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP US TO ENSURE THAT ACTIVE THURSDAY CAN RUN EVERY WEEK!  If you are interested in gaining valuable experience of working with children in this way please contact Mrs Burton in the Office, who will make all the necessary safeguarding checks.

Any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask Mrs Mason, Mrs Doherty or our Sports Coach Tony Corns.
